Education: Progressive or Degenerative?

Why do people learn? Do they do it for the possibility of earning money later in life or possibly to broaden their knowledge of the world? Regardless of what their motives for learning many people pursue an education throughout their lives. This is because many people believe that having an education guarantees or at least equals success. Success however cannot be simply amounted to a persons education level. It is not the education that determines success, in fact there is nothing that can guarantee success. We can only increase our chances of success, and while education does play a factor, it only plays a minor one. Rather it is the hard work and determination people face while learning that helps them the most. Having a good education only simply allows a head start in a race, it is hard work and effort that carries them through the rest of the way. Education can be compared to talent. People often say that talent does not mean everything, this is because talent only goes so far. Talent cannot carry someone through a hard task, effort and determination, on the other hand, can.
Education is not a necessity for success, in fact some people regard college as unnecessary. This is true in certain fields, after all information in books often pale in comparison to on hand experiences. Furthermore the price of college has risen throughout the years, and many are unable to pay off the costs. In the pursuit of knowledge, college is still not necessary. The library has thousands of references, and with the internet, people are able to locate various information from the comfort of their own home. College is simply there for people to get a degree/title that shows that they are smart. Regardless of the degree, companies will still regard work experience as more important than a degree. Degree teaches the subject theoretically, however it takes experience to successfully implement theory into reality.
People who do not enjoy what they are studying is bound to be unsuccessful in that field or area of expertise. This is because being successful requires effort that no amount of previous knowledge can make up. In extremist cases, there are millionaires who have dropped out of college or did not even attend college who have become extremely successful. Life's road is not so simple as to be determined through only 1 event, college is an option, and it does not necessary for success.

Necromancy

Hitler had done the impossible, created a miracle, and became a hero to all. His creations brought the dead back to life. His men stood by trenches that were filled with the dead bodies of millions. Death filled the air with its rotten stench. Men in masks came with vacuum to suck up the foul gas that lingered above the dead bodies. Various other gases were brought out and sucked up. One gas lifted men off of the ground while another cleared a man's face of anguish. In other places men carried iron rods that repaired the holes in fallen men. Thousands of people jumped off the ground and went through a shower to cleanse themselves. Millions of men rose from the dead, and they all lined up one after another, thus forming a conga line of some sort. Their appearance resembled those of zombies, with their ribs and bones being visible through their skin, however they slowly came from a state of malnourished to plump and healthy. They all crawled back onto a crowded truck or train where they shed tears, while hugging their family. People were not afraid of each other, and they showered each other with prayers and blessings. People hugged their families as they got off the train/truck and went back to their respective homes. They teared off the star that caused them to be discriminated against and gave them back to Hitler's men who tore them apart through various machinery. The Jews came out of hiding and unlocked their doors, people came rushing into Germany through flying or walking. The people slowly stopped shivering and locking up their doors at night. Hitler brought joy to the people through his speeches, similar in manner to Martin Luther King Jr.. This was what Hitler hoped, dreamed and wanted to do. After all what was the purpose of human motivation and interaction other than creating happiness?

The Basement

The stairs creaked and groaned as an unwary trespasser walked into the unforgiving darkness. Reaching out in the darkness, searching for a source of light, an object clicks. Suddenly bright light gushes into the room... or it should have at least. I stare into a dim lit room, dust has made this place it's own. Dust flies off my old gaming console, as i give it a puff for old time's sake. Gaming consoles has progressed far in technology, but the tradition of cleaning a game by simply blowing it has not changed. I spot my old wii laying beside my tv, it gives a soft roar as if waking from an age long sleep. My TV screen fills the room with light, as i glance at an unfamiliar face on the screen. "That mii is supposed to be me?" A small chuckle escapes my mouth as i continue to stare at the mii. Glancing around i find several discs laying sprawled out on a table, as if set there just for me to find. I restart each disc and retrace my steps as i progress along each game. Despite having not played my wii in years, i remember the layout to each game as if they were etched into my mind. Laughter filled the room, as i fall prey to the same death in the same manner. The laughter however died away as quickly as it came, and to replace it came pitch dark silence. Darkness seethes in through a window, quickly filling up the room with a sharp contrast to the tv. The room appears eerie to me once more, from the toy baby dolls, to the various action figures to the spiky bouncy balls scattered across the room. The toys looked as if they were surrounding me, backing me up into a corner. I turn to my left, and there lay a door. The door led to a simple dead end, a room filled with simple antiques. I held a deep fear for that room due to it's wooden appearance which contrasted my houses modern appearance and the lack of light. The room contained nothing which enabled light to enter (other than the door). There were no windows, no electrical sockets, and it was filled with dusty cobwebs. Hearing the door creak behind me, i hurriedly rush upstairs, leaving behind both my happiness and my fears.

The Table of Life?

I sit down in my dreary room, next to a lonesome couch, and a table in the corner appearing devoid of any sign of life. The table groans and creaks clearly not appreciating the burdensome weight of my arms. A pencil rolls off as if making a desperate attempt at escaping it's drab surroundings. Reaching down i put an end to his pitiful attempt of an escape. A sudden scuttle steals the attention of my eyes and i come face to face with a small fortress. The fortress spread and sealed off an entire corner of my room. It's size was tens, no hundreds of times bigger than it's inhabitant. The tiny spider had made a home out of a place which contained nothing. The spider quickly moves into the darkness and disappearing from my site. I resume my previous work leaving the spider to his boring existence. But as quickly as i had started working, i became distracted with the various doodles that appeared on my desk. Various battles and epic wars were etched into this table. Snoopy was defeating the death star in an aerial battle for the sky, aqua man was finally mercilessly slaughtering the justice league and the earth had embraced the existence of extraterrestrial life. I attempt to shake off my imagination and focus on my work, but procrastination gripped my mind in a vice-like grip. My computer stares me straight in the eyes, full of blinding light. I take a second look at my surroundings, nothing has changed. However my understanding of my surroundings has. It is no longer devoid of life, but filled with the idea of creation. I look back at my bright lit screen and utter a prayer. I thank life for giving me the chance to embrace the internet.

Introooooooooooooo

I was recently blackmailed and forced to do deeds against my own will. I was blackmailed with the most horrendous things possible, grades and cookies. Grades are meh, but cookies bring about a whole different issue of evil. I foresee myself in the near future devouring countless of chocolate chip cookies. However i will also be updating periodically with details of my hostage situation. My updates will be about random stuff and will happen whenever i find myself being deprived of food. I have a broad range of interests, thus basically if it's something new then it will usually pique my interest. Unless of course if it involves politics. I believe in the holy cookie god. As to why that god has not answered my prayers of being saved from this dastardly situation... well i accidentally ate it's holy representation. On my defense however, it did look quite appetizing.

In all seriousness this blog will be a manifestation of all my desires/craving for cookies. It will describe my daily life as i wander in search of food. This includes during video game sessions, studying sessions, exercising sessions and reading sessions. I know this will not attract many attention. In fact my worst fear is writing details about my inner self and having other people read it. It feels like i'm taking off a mask and revealing myself to this world. Except not in a flasher manner. My view of the world so far (in case you couldn't tell before) is one of sarcasm. Despite this, i am a real sucker for sarcasm. I am never able to tell sarcasm and truth apart. Well seeing that it is time for me to go back into the darkness i leave the internet on a good note. A cookie for one and a cookie for all.
